It has been said that the word ‘bespoke’ was first coined in 1607, although we may never know for sure. But throughout the ensuing decades and centuries, bespoke has evolved from its humble origins to mean something more. The term, which began its life as the verb bespeak in 1583, literally meant ‘to speak for something’.
Starting with French White Oak, reclaimed from the past or otherwise, the width of the plank, the custom stain and finish, the pattern—the choice is yours. No two floors are alike. This is only the beginning of the Bespoke Line, but as the unique opportunities may grow, the guiding principle will always remain the same—it’s designed with you in mind.

Mesmerizing Stairs
Each home has its unique architectural feature that makes it one of a kind, the only one for you. Staircases are often one of the key architectural elements of modern multi-storey homes. They are often used, not only as functional elements, but rather as focal centerpieces of the homes – centerpieces that could often be seen as jewels.
How do you take something functional and make it beautiful, a key design feature, the greatest work of art? Based on our experience of working with Toronto renowned interior designers and architects, this could easily be achieved by ensuring that the materials used on the staircase match the materials used on the flooring. Although, this sounds like an easy task, it is rather challenging in practice. The traditional approach is for the homeowner to choose the hardwood flooring and then order the staircase made out of wood in its original colour, unfinished. Once the hardwood flooring colour is chosen, the staircase will be then stained and finished on site to match the flooring. The issue with this approach is that wood is a natural product. Wood products with different finishes will react differently to natural elements such as sun exposure, oxidization, and overall normal wear and tear. As a result, a homeowner might eventually see discolouration as well as the difference in natural colours between the staircase and the floors.
Khayeri, armed with a wealth of experience from working on some of the most prominent custom homes, chooses a completely different approach. Since distinctive design is one of Khayeri’s core values, our team, when involved at the early stages of the project, can provide customized solutions towards the fabrication and cladding of any intricate staircase model. Khayeri custom fabrication accessories, including stairs and their various components, would be made from the same wood material as the selected flooring. Thus, in addition to their functional use, your stairs would reinforce the experience of visual movement through the space and reflect the design character of the overall interior from the ground up.
